ZIP (Initial integration of immigrants) is a free programme for learning Slovene, including learning about Slovene society. It is performed by the Folk University Kranj (address: Ljudska univerza Kranj, Cesta Staneta Žagarja 1, 4000 Kranj, Slovenia; phone number: 04/280 48 00).

The programme consists of 180 pedagogical lessons of organized tuition including the content from life and work, which strengthen the integration of immigrants into a Slovene society. ZIP programmes are free of charge. The participant pays only for transportation costs and the costs of school requisites and material.

Application procedure for ZIP: First you need an application for issuing a certificate about fulfilling conditions for the participation in a unified programme. It should be filed at the administrative unit of your permanent or temporary accommodation. Provided that you fulfill the conditions, you will obtain the certificate of fulfilling conditions for the participation in programme ZIP. Bring the certificate to the selected provider, who will provide you with all the information about the programme (the certificate can be sent also per e-mail).
